Khomani Day Care Centre, South Africa

Khomanani Day Care is situated in Tlhavekisa village in Mpumalanga. Mpumalanga Province is blessed with incredible natural beauty and is home to the Southern section of the Kruger National Park as well as many other nature reserves. 68% of land in the region is devoted to agriculture, with maize, sugar cane and citrus key crops. The Early Childhood Development centre currently has 97 children enrolled between the ages of 0-4years. The infrastructure is extremely poor quality and does not meet the requirements of The Department of Social Development for safe Early Child Development centres. Therefore, the project has been seeking support to improve the site, with new classrooms co-funded by South Suez.
